It's not about the two and a half trillion dollar auto industry or the five trillion dollar oil industry, it's not about the trillions the government has spent on roads in the past century since public transport was phased out for individual vehicles, and it's not about the fact that delays caused by traffic congestion alone cost the U.S economy over $120 billion per year. A few million crashed cars is not a "trainwreck" of bad governance, only an *actual* trainwreck is.
